Description (anglais) : In 1656, a large attroupement of fifty to sixty armed men, led by a group of recognizable residents, was riding around 'uttering insults against the officers of justice and words tending to foment popular sedition, crying loudly, ‘‘Vive la liberte’’'. They roused some Protestant ministers out of bed and harassed them to try to get them to ‘abjure their evil plans’. The leader was a certain Colonel Baltazar. Despite these inducements, no crowd formed and no riot occurred.
