Description (anglais) : Clothiers in the region of Stroud wanted to cut wages, but the Gloucestershire weavers responded collectively and went on strike for several weeks. In the end, clothiers agreed a new rate but some refused to apply it which led to further disturbances. Clothiers managed to repeal the law in 1757 and could continue to pay low rate.
