THE CITY

Located in the scenic southwest corner of the Rhône-Alpes region of southeast France, near the Loire River, Saint-Etienne is known as a white, blue and green area because of its skiing, boating, mountaineering and other outdoor pursuits. It used to be the leading city at the time of the French Industrial Revolution, last century. It's now a fast-growing university center, ideally situated between the Alps and the Central Massif, a mere 3 hours' drive from the Mediterranean.
And there is also our famous and beloved soccer team: Les Verts.
From its past Saint-Etienne has preserved the precious trait of making all nationalities equally welcome. Saint-Etienne… the other "melting-pot" !
