THE
CITY

|
|
Aix-en-Provence
:
Protected by the Ste Victoire mountain which rises to 1,011m., Aix
is a city of human dimension where the preserved heritage and the
city of tomorrow blend perfectly. In Aix, all is colour and sensation:
the light of the sky, the golden stone of the facades, the transparent
green of the fountains, the shade of the plane trees... A tour of
Aix-en-Provence is a chance to travel in time. Its architectural
and cultural heritage is a treasure that one can discover simply
by walking around the town. The events held every year, including
dance, music and film festivals, testify of the cultural vocation
of Aix en Provence.

Marseille
:
Founded in 600 BC by the Phoenicians, Marseille has always been
a meeting place of ideas, races and civilisations. A cosmopolitan
city which has just celebrated its 2600th birthday. Corseted by
a ring of hills, including the Calanques massif, the city winds
57 km along the Mediterranean coast. Sunshine is one of the strong
assets of its pleasant lifestyle, and the Mistral wind gives it
that special light that has inspired many renowned painters such
as Cézanne, Braque, Dufy, and others... Over the centuries
Marseille has preserved its traditions and unique lifestyle and
will invite you to take a walk down the legendary Canebière,
to stroll around the Old Harbour with its fish market, participate
in the numerous summer activities, go boating to the islands, or
hike in the Calanques massifs
